Get Your Day-Drinking on at United We Brunch

The brunch craze has reached epic proportions and it seems that gathering with friends for an awkwardly scheduled mix-matched meal may become the new mainstay of the weekend warrior. Everyone loves a good brunch and that’s why The Riverfront Times took it upon themselves to host a great one.

On Saturday, August 12, Riverfront Times’ United We Brunch will feature over 20 different St. Louis restaurants bringing their brunch A-game in hopes of either curing your hangover or kick-starting your Saturday festivities. Oh, and did we mention that we’re proud to be the official beer sponsor of this event? Not only does your ticket include unlimited brunch tastings, but it also includes our award-winning American lagers.

Although the exact food menu for the event is a mystery, we can provide some pointers on what brunch favorites will pair perfectly with a Kräftig. Beer might not be the first beverage that comes to mind when you think of brunch, but it should be—and these pairings prove it!

Kräftig’s Brunch Buddies

Bagel with Cream Cheese and Lox

The rich flavor and oily nature of salmon make it a perfect match for Kräftig’s crisp and clean body. The carbonation of the beer will cut through the richness of the cream cheese and salmon. The delicate malty sweetness of Kräftig compliments the doughy, bready flavor of the bagel. Kräftig’s light flavor and effervescence provide the perfect balance to the complex textures of this brunch favorite.

Spicy Breakfast Tacos

Especially if they’re chorizo and egg tacos. The sweetness from the malt meets the savory, spicy flavor of the chorizo halfway. This famously greasy Mexican sausage combined with the pillowy richness of the eggs can become heavy, but the fresh flavor of Kräftig cleanses your palate to prevent these textures from becoming overwhelming.

Breakfast Pizza

Mostly because pizza & beer, duh. But there’s good reason behind the delectability of this famous duo. Lager pairs wonderfully with the mild cheeses typically featured on pizza. Also, the sweet breadyness of lager is a great match for the crisp, starchy flavor of pizza crust.

Be sure to come out and join us on Saturday, August 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Union Station. You won’t be disappointed!
